Ingredients:
- 1 block of halloumi cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions:
- Preheat your grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Slice the block of halloumi cheese into fingers or strips, about 1/2 inch thick. You can adjust the size according to your preference.
- Heat the olive oil in the pan.
- Place the halloumi slices on the preheated grill pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until grill marks form and the cheese is heated through. Be careful not to overcook, as halloumi can become rubbery if cooked for too long.
- Once grilled to your liking, remove the halloumi cheese fingers from the grill and transfer them to a serving plate.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the grilled halloumi fingers for a burst of citrus flavor and sprinkle with dried oregano. You can also garnish with fresh herbs like mint or basil for added freshness.
- Serve immediately while the cheese is still warm and soft. Grilled halloumi cheese fingers are best enjoyed right away, as they tend to firm up as they cool.
Get creative with toppings such as a drizzle of honey or chilli flakes.
